Founded in 1995, Chartwell’s roots stem from providing valuation services to privately held companies primarily for ESOPs, estate and gift planning and buy-sell agreements.  After years of completing hundreds of valuations for many unique business owners, we recognized the need for sound, expert valuation opinions, but also an unmet need for unbiased solutions to ownership transition challenges. We responded to this challenge by building a firm of experts well versed in transition issues who are ready to serve your particular needs.

By delivering outstanding service coupled with sound, practical advice we have been fortunate to develop a network of extremely loyal clients to whom we owe our success.  As a result of our successful involvement with private businesses and business owners, we expanded from our headquarters in Minneapolis into a national power with special focus in the Upper Midwest and Western United States.  The satisfaction of both clients and other professional associates, combined with overwhelming demand for unbiased financial advisory solutions, resulted in the establishment of our San Francisco and Chicago offices in 2010.  These additions allow us to continue our long tradition of providing the expertise and professionalism in corporate finance, ownership consulting and valuation services our clients and professional associates deserve and have come to expect from Chartwell.
